Ivory Coast Inflation Rate at 4-Month High of 1.2%
The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast rose to 1.2 percent in November 2019 from 0.3 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since July, amid surging prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.4 percent vs 0.6 percent in October), namely fruits (9.3 percent vs 7.2 percent) and tubers & plantains (6.5 percent vs -4.2 percent). Additional upward pressure came from housing & utilities (1.5 percent vs -0.9 percent); transport (0.6 percent vs -0.7 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (0.4 percent vs -0.3 percent) and recreation & culture (0.8 percent vs 0.1 percent). In contrast, cost fell for alcoholic beverages & tobacco (-0.7 percent vs -0.9 percent) and health (-0.5 percent vs -0.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices inched up 1 percent, after edging down 0.1 percent in the previous month.

Ivory Coast Inflation Rate at 8-Month Low of 0.3%
The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast dropped to 0.3 percent in October 2019 from 0.5 percent in the previous month. This is the lowest inflation rate since February, as prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (0.6 percent vs 1.1 percent in September) and restaurants & hotels (0.3 percent vs 0.5 percent). Meantime, cost fell for transport (-0.7 percent vs -1.2 percent) and housing & utilities (-0.9 percent after being flat). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went down 0.1 percent, after increasing 0.2 percent in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast increased slightly to 0.5 percent in September 2019 from 0.4 percent in the previous month, mainly due to prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (1.1 percent vs 0.2 percent), namely fruits (9.8 percent vs 7.2 percent) and tubers & plantains (7.7 percent vs 1.0 percent). Also, cost rebounded for restaurants & hotels (0.5 percent vs -1.4 percent) and recreation & culture (0.1 percent vs -0.9 percent) and furnishings (1.1 percent vs -0.2 percent). In contrast, prices were flat for housing & utilities (vs 0.2 percent) and they fell for transport (-1.2 percent vs 2.2 percent); health (-0.2 percent vs 0.4 percent); alcoholic beverages & tobacco (-1.5 percent vs -0.5 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (-0.2 percent vs -0.1 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.2 percent, after decreasing 1 percent in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast fell to 0.4 percent in August 2019 from 1.2 percent in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation rate since February, mainly due to prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (0.2 percent vs 2.5 percent in July), namely vegetables (-0.1 percent vs 2.8 percent) and housing & utilities (0.2 percent vs 0.7 percent). Also, cost fell for restaurants & hotels (-1.4 percent vs 0.8 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (-0.1 percent vs -0.8 percent); recreation & culture (-0.9 percent vs 0.8 percent); furnishings (-0.2 percent vs 0.7 percent) and alcoholic beverages & tobacco (-0.5 percent vs -1.6 percent). Meanwhile, prices advanced faster for transport (2.2 percent vs 0.7 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices declined 1 percent, following a 0.3 percent drop in the prior month.

The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast stood at 1.2 percent in July 2019, its highest level since January, unchanged from the previous month. Main upward pressure came from housing & utilities (0.7 percent vs -0.7 percent in June); restaurants & hotels (0.8 percent vs 0.7 percent) and furnishings (0.7 percent vs -0.1 percent). Meanwhile, prices slowed mostly for food & non-alcoholic beverages (2.5 percent vs 3.4 percent), namely vegetables (2.8 percent vs 17.3 percent); transport (0.7 percent vs 1 percent); clothing & footwear (0.8 percent vs 0.9 percent) and recreation & culture (0.8 percent vs 1.4 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3 percent, after increasing 0.5 percent in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Ivory Coast went up to 1.2 percent in June 2019 from 0.8 percent in the previous month. It is the highest inflation rate since December, as prices rose sharply for food & non-alcoholic beverages (3.4 percent vs 2.1 percent in May), mainly pushed up by fresh vegetables (17.3 percent vs 0.1 percent). On the other hand, prices slowed for transport (1 percent vs 1.2 percent); restaurants & hotels (0.7 percent vs 1.5 percent) and education (1.2 percent vs 2.2 percent). Meantime, cost fell for housing & utilities (-0.7 percent vs -1.8 percent); furnishings (-0.1 percent vs 1.7 percent) and miscellaneous goods & services (-0.6 percent vs 0.3 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.5 percent, up from a 0.4 percent gain in the prior month.
