Tunisia Producer Inflation at 7-Month Low of 8.5%
Producer prices in Tunisia rose 8.5 percent year-on-year in March 2019, easing from a 9.5 percent climb in the prior month. It was the lowest producer inflation since last August, as prices rose less for mining (22.7 percent vs 41.5 percent in February) and manufacturing (8.1 percent vs 9.5 percent), namely chemicals (22 percent vs 25.1 percent) and food (6.2 percent vs 6.9 percent). On a monthly basis, factory gate prices went up 0.1 percent, following a 0.7 percent increase in the previous month.

Tunisia Producer Inflation Highest since 2009
Producer prices in Tunisia climbed 9.6 percent year-on-year in February 2019, following a 8.9 percent rise in the prior month. It is the highest producer inflation since January 2009, as prices continued to advance for mining (41.5 percent vs 36.1 percent in January), mainly in the extraction of minerals for the chemical industry and natural fertilizers (45.3 percent vs 39.2 percent); manufacturing (9.5 percent vs 9.1 percent), of which chemicals (25.1 percent vs 23.1 percent) and food (6.9 percent vs 6.9 percent); and energy (6.2 percent vs 4.9 percent). On a monthly basis, factory gate prices went up 0.7 percent, after a 1.4 percent rise in the previous month.

Tunisia Producer Inflation Rises to 8.9% in January
Producer prices in Tunisia increased 8.9 percent year-on-year in January 2019, up from a 8.7 percent rise in the prior month. Prices went up faster for mining (36.1 percent vs 20.6 percent in December) and energy (4.9 percent vs 4.2 percent). Meanwhile, cost slowed a bit for manufacturing (9.1 percent vs 9.3 percent). On a monthly basis, factory gate prices rose 1.4 percent, faster than a 0.2 percent increase in the previous month.

Tunisia Producer Inflation at 4-Month Low of 8.7%
Producer prices in Tunisia rose 8.7 percent year-on-year in December 2018, down from a 8.9 percent increase in the previous month. It is the lowest producer inflation since August, as prices slowed for manufacturing (9.3 percent vs 9.6 percent in November), mainly in the production of machinery and electrical equipment (6.5 percent vs 6.7 percent) and chemicals (23.8 percent vs 25.3 percent). On the other hand, cost advanced faster for energy (4.2 percent vs 3.8 percent) and mining (20.6 percent vs 18 percent). On a monthly basis, factory gate prices went up 0.2 percent, after increasing 0.4 percent in the preceding month.
